Age Restrictions?

Age Restrictions?

D.
At this very moment, I don't agree with underage drinking. Which means I also don't agree with or encourage people underage to use weed products for recreation. I am now a part of the "These kids built different" group. I think that kids need to be exactly that, kids. I definitely think that minors should be informed about anything that they would think about consuming at an appropriate age and have a basic understanding of what things can do to you. I can't say I was perfect when I was young, but my parents also instilled fear in me that had me not wanting to try much of anything either. I came late in the game so my parents weren't playing around like that. Their recreation was church and the mosque and the rebellion was not worth the risk. From what I have heard I knew there were some parents that would teach their kids to drink or they would just want their kids to drink around them because they knew their kids. I completely understand that logic however I think about long term. We don't know what we don't know especially about a kids development. This is also coming from a person who doesn't have children but a concerned adult.
Data reported for 2010 (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2011): 51.8% of the U.S. population aged 12 or older are current drinkers of alcohol.
Data reported for 2007-2008 in Ogden & Carroll (2010a, 2010b):
68% of the US population age 20 and older was either overweight or obese (Ogden & Carroll, 2010a)
